SCOTT WEILAND has been arrested for driving under the influence of drugs just a week after a judge congratulated him for staying clean.

The former Stone Temple Pilots frontman was apprehended in Los Angeles on Monday morning at 6:37am after crashing his car into a parked van, reports MTV.

Police were able to track his car down 15 blocks by following debris and tyre marks. While Weiland was not arrested for the incident itself, he was booked by police for driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, which police believe to be a narcotic. He was released on $15,000 bail later that day.

Just a week before (October 20), and as previously reported, Weiland was praised by a judge in Los Angeles for staying clean following a previous arrest for heroin and cocaine possession, but warned that he could face imprisonment if his next test was not clean.

After that hearing, Weiland made an impassioned speech pledging to stay clean for good, saying: “Sometimes God offers you circumstances that fall in your lap that you wouldn’t happen. Getting busted spurred my desire to get back into recovery.”

Weiland is scheduled for an arraignment on November 17, before another court appearance in January.

Velvet Revolver, the band Weiland formed with members of [a][/a], continue to work on their debut album, due in February.
