STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer SCOTT WEILAND has been arrested by the LAS VEGAS METROPOLITAN POLICE on charges of domestic violence.

The star was apprehended at the city’s HARD ROCK MOTEL on Monday morning (November 19)

Weiland was in custody for 12 hours, according to www.cdnow.com, but managed to play the Stone Temple Pilots gig on Monday night at the Hard Rock Hotel. Weiland didn’t mention his arrest, but is reported to have said: “I may be a failure at love, but I’ve written a few good tunes in my life.”

The police report reads: “Mary Weiland states she and her husband of one and a half years, Scott Weiland, had a verbal argument over prescription medication that had been prescribed by a Dr Cary Logan. In an attempt to stop Scott from leaving the room, Mary sat in front of the door. Scott became physical when he physically removed Mary from the front of the door. He did this by forcefully grabbing her arms and moving her to the right side of the door. He then pushed Mary against the wall several times. Scott then left the room. As the result of the altercation, Mary has some bruising on her left bicep, as well as her right bicep.”

Weiland married Mary in May last year, and has been out of trouble since he was released from prison shortly before the wedding. He was first arrested in 1995 on drugs charges and has served a number of prison sentences since that time. The couple are parents of one-year-old boy.
