Watch Stone Temple Pilots perform with new singer for the first time

Frontman Jeff Gutt joined band for show in LA last week

Stone Temple Pilots played their first show with new frontman Jeff Gutt last week. See footage beneath.

The group recently revealed their new singer to be Gutt following the death of lead vocalist Chester Bennington. Bennington fronted Stone Temple Pilots between 2013 and 2015 after the death of original frontman Scott Weiland. Gutt is the former vocalist of nu-metal band Dry Cell and a two-time contestant on X Factor USA.

Gutt joined the band for a gig at the Troubadour in Los Angeles last Tuesday (November 14). He performed new single ‘Meadow’ and classic track ‘Still Remains’ with the band. Watch in the clips below.

Original frontman Scott Weiland was found dead on his tour bus in December 2015, with a toxicology report attributing it partially to drug use, as well as to cardiovascular disease and asthma.

Vocalist Chester Bennington then fronted Stone Temple Pilots between 2013 and 2015 but left to focus on his work with Linkin Park.

The band’s new single ‘Meadow’ will appear on the band’s new album which is due out next spring.

Stone Temple Pilots’ Dean DeLeo has said of new singer Gutt: “We wanted someone who would not only do our earlier songs justice, but would also write new songs and carve out a different path forward with us. It took some time, but we found our guy”.
