Check out their first new album in eight years

Today sees the release of Metallica‘s long-awaited new album ‘Hardwired…The Self-Destruct’. Listen to the record by streaming in full below.

‘Hardwired’ is the band’s tenth album and their first in eight years. Yesterday, we exclusively unveiled the video to ‘Spit Out The Bone’, as the band shared a visual clip for each and every track on the album. They also performed the ‘Black Album’ classic ‘Enter Sandman’ on kids instruments with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots.

Now, the acclaimed record is available for streaming.

“In the four decades since their inception they’ve managed to transcend time and keep fans guessing,” we wrote in our review. “And while ‘Hardwired… To Self-Destruct’ isn’t dissimilar in delivery to their last record, 2008’s ‘Death Magnetic’, Metallica still – in their fifties – remain both vital and innovative. And nobody in rock has earned those plaudits more.”

Frontman James Hetfield recently spoke out to reveal what their late bassist Cliff Burton would have thought of their breakthrough ’90s material after his death.

“Well, I certainly would have thought there would have been some resistance, for sure,” said Hetfield. “I think Cliff would have probably interjected some different stuff, getting his bass heard and some more musically challenging things, probably.”

Today also sees the band not only head to London’s HMV Oxford Street for a midnight signing with fans, but also play a special, intimate show at the House Of Vans among other ‘special events’ – visit here for details.
