Streets, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Interpol are among the ten finalists competing for the US SHORTLIST MUSIC PRIZE.

The award is the US equivalent of the UK’s Mercury Music Prize, and has was won by Sigur Ros in 2001 and N.E.R.D in 2002.

The Shortlist award ceremony will be held October 5 at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. The Black Key, Cat Power, Damien Rice and Interpol will perform.

This year’s jury includes Dave Matthews, Erykah Badu and Coldplay‘s Chris Martin.
