Mike Skinner previews his eagerly awaited second album at the London Astoria bash...

Streets played five new songs at their NME AWARDS SHOW last night (January 2).

The show at the London Astoria also saw performances from MC Lady Sovereign and Welsh rap collective Goldie Lookin’ Chain.

During Mike Skinner’s headline slot, he premiered five new songs, ’Dry Your Eyes’, ’Blinded By The Light’, ’Could Well Be In’, ’It Was Supposed To Be So Easy’ and new single ’You’re Fit But You Know It’.

Some of the lyrics to the single run: [I]”I’m not trying to pull you / even though I would like to / I think you’re really fit / You’re fit but my gosh don’t you know it?”.

Streets‘ new album is due later in 2004.

The show was part of our residency at the London Astoria and London Brixton Academy in the run up to the NME Awards on February 12. For all the latest news, come back to NME.COM all week.
