Suede keyboard player NEIL CODLING took time out from writing for his band’s new album by appearing as the secret special guest at London’s Trash Club last night. (July 17)
Playing to a sold-out crowd at Soho’s Annexe Club, he surprised many by playing a set which included Black Sabbath, Kraftwerk, Aphex Twin and some obscure Northern Soul – much to the delight of his female fans, who mobbed him throughout the night.
As previously reported, Suede are currently writing their fifth album and lead singer Brett Anderson is currently holed up in a cottage in Croydon to finish writing new tracks for the record, the follow-up to ‘Head Music’.
Neil and the rest of the band will join Brett in the studio next month to start recording the reocord which is slated for release late this year or early next.
Trash, which has been running for more than three years, moves from The Annexe to London’s End nightclub on July 31.
