The same will apply to Virgin‘s instore radio station which will play songs from the new Suede album and back-catalogue along with band members’ personal favourites throughout the week.

Steve Kincaid, Virgin Megastores commercial director, said: “It’s not just a PR stunt, it also demonstrates our belief in the strength of Suede‘s new album.

“To go to these lengths to support a band reflects not only our conviction that ‘Head Music’ is destined to become one of the albums of the year, but also our long-term commitment to raising the profile of new music.

“We’re pretty we’ll please a few Suede fans along the way too.” Suede will play this year’s MTV Five Night Stand at Shepherd’s Bush Empire on May 9.

Support comes from Ultrasound and Dark Star.

The band will also headline this year’s V99 Festival at Weston Park, Staffordshire (August 21) and Hylands Park, Chelmsford (22). Call nme.com‘s 24-hour ticketline on 0870 121 0125.
