Sugababes hold on at top of UK chart

Sugababes have hung on at the top of the UK singles charts this evening (October 7).

The trio are Number One with ‘About You Now’.

Elsewhere in the chart, Amy Winehouse is in the Top Ten courtesy of Mark Ronson and their cover of The Zutons‘Valerie’.

The Top Ten looks like this:

In the album chart Bruce Springsteen goes straight to Number One with ‘Magic’, while Katie Melua goes in at Number Two with ‘Pictures’.

This coming week the Sex Pistols are gunning for their first ever Number One as a campaign to get ‘God Save The Queen’ to the top of the charts kicks in.

The track was reputedly cheated out of the top spot in 1977 by authorities worried it would spoil the Royal Jubilee that year. However, music fans 30 years later are aiming to get the song back to Number One as the single is reissued.
