SUPER FURRY ANIMALS, The Futureheads and Dizzee Rascal are among artists appearing at the north east’s biggest music festival.

The Orange Evolution Festival takes place between May 19-30 in various venues across Newcastle and Gateshead.

And the event will culminate with special event on Bank Holiday Monday, featuring three free stages in Newcastle, dubbed Innovation, Imagination and Inspiration, with the line-up chosen accordingly.

Playing the Innovation Stage at Spiller’s Wharf are The Ordinary Boys, Super Furry Animals, Mylo (playing a live set), The Rakes, The Futureheads, The Others and El Presidente.

The Imagination Stage on Baltic Square features [/a], [a], Carbon Silicon, Fightstar, Hard-Fi, Kubichek and Boy Kill Boy.

Meanwhile, the Inspiration Stage will be set up at Quayside East and feature Candi Stanton, Misty In Roots, Mark Eitzel, Kristen Hersh, Martin Stephenson, Vic Goddard and Charles Walker.

The festival, which takes as its theme ‘the evolution of popular music from blues and roots right through to dance’, will also feature over 30 indoor gigs.
