Gruff Rhys helps out his pal...

SUPER FURRY ANIMALS frontman GRUFF RHYS is to guest star on the new album by BOOM BIP.

The star, who releases his own debut solo album ‘Yr Atal Genhedlaeth’ on January 31, sings on the track ‘Do’s And Dont’s’, which appears on the album ‘Blue Eyed In The Red Room’, out February 21.

Boom Bip, real name Bryan Hollon, had previously remixed the SFA track ‘Father, Father’, which appeared on the band’s remix album ‘Phantom Phorce’ earlier this year.

Boom Bip said of the collaboration: “Gruff crashed on my couch for a few days. He drew inspiration from some of the books I had lying around, – in particular ‘Bahai Faith’ by Jessyca Russell Gaver.”

The record is the follow-up to 2002’s ‘Seed To Sun’, and also features an appearance from New York singer/songwriter Nin Nastasia.
