The Welsh pop wizards fit in another live date...

SUPER FURRY ANIMALS are to warm up for their headlining GLASTONBURY slot with a show the night before in CARDIFF.

The band play the MS1 venue on June 27, the evening before they headline the Other Stage at Glastonbury. Tickets are on sale by calling 029 20 301 000 or clicking on [url=]

The gig follows band’s first major show of the year, in Bethesda, Gwynedd, north Wales, on June 21. The concert, subject to license, will occur in a 5,000 capacity tent, to commemorate the centenary of the end of the Great Bethesda Quarry Strike, which took place from 1900-03 and became Britain’s longest ever strike. The all-day event – for which the full line-up will be announced shortly – is part of a yearlong commemorative festival in Bethesda.

To buy tickets, call the NME Ticketline on 0870 1 663 663.

Super Furry Animals release their new album ‘Phantom Power’ on July 21 through Epic. It’s preceded by a single, ‘Golden Retriever’, on July 7.

The LP, as with 2001’s Mercury Prize-nominated ‘Rings Around The World’, will be released simultaneously on conventional audio and DVD, and mixed in 5.1 stereo surround sound.
