But news of a gig at London's Brixton Academy is said to be premature...
SUPER FURRY ANIMALS have confirmed they will play more live shows in the UK this autumn.
The band completed their ‘Furrymania’ mini-tour of the UK this weekend with a show at the London Forum on Saturday evening (June 30).
Following the show, fans claimed to have been handed details of a gig due to take place at the London Brixton Academy on October 2. In addition to the date and venue, ticket prices and credit card hotlines were announced.
Speculation about the show continued on the Internet today. However, a spokesperson for the band refused to confirm the show to NME.COM this afternoon (July 2), but did reveal the band will play live in the UK again later in the year.
He commented: “The Super Furry Animals have not announced any forthcoming gigs at the Brixton Academy, London. The band are planning to tour sometime in the autumn. Details of these dates will be announced very soon.”
The band release their new single ‘Juxtapozed With U’ on July 9. The band’s fifth studio album, ‘Rings Around The World’, follows on July 23.
