The 'Furrymania' events incorporate live shows, DVD screenings and club nights...
SUPER FURRY ANIMALS will take over three cities for three weekends in June with live performances, DVD screenings and club nights.
NME.COM can exclusively reveal that the ‘Furrymania’ events will take place in Manchester, Glasgow, and London. To celebrate the simultaneous release of their ‘Rings Around The World’ album and DVD on July 16, the weekend events will include gigs played in surround sound, a screening of the DVD version of ‘Rings Around The World’ and club nights at which members of the band will DJ.
The DVD films are set to each song and include an image of Cuban cigars featuring singer Gruff Rhys’ face in the style of Che Guevara.
Manchester is the first city to experience Furrymania, with a DVD screening at the Cornerhouse Cinema on Friday, June 15 followed by a club night at the University Cellar bar. The band then play Manchester Academy on June 16.
Furrymania then moves to Glasgow on Friday, June 22 with a screening at Glasgow Film Theatre and a club night at Renfrew Ferry. The band play Glasgow Barrowlands the following night (June 23).
Finally, SFA reach London on June 29 for a screening at Notting Hill Electric Cinema, followed by a club at Bar Under Solo. The gig takes place on Saturday, June 30 at the Forum.
Admission to the screenings and club nights will cost £5, however there will be 100 wristbands available for each weekend which will guarantee the wearer entry into all events. These will cost £20 for Manchester and Glasgow and £25 for London .
