SUPER FURRY ANIMALS were joined onstage by yetis at their ‘hometown’ show in north Wales on Saturday (June 21).

The band’s first major show of the year took place in a 6,500 capacity tent in Bethesda, Gwynedd, north Wales.

SFA played a two-hour set, playing songs from all six of their studio albums, including five from the forthcoming ‘Phantom Power’, out on July 21 through Epic.

Two yetis joined the group during ‘Mountain People’. Before the closer ‘The Man Don’t Give A Fuck’ the band looped the voice of comedian Bill Hicks saying “All governments are liars and murderers” while the screens showed footage of George Bush and Tony Blair.

Super Furry Animals‘ play a small show at Cardiff MS1 on Friday (June 27) before headlining the Other Stage at Glastonbury on Saturday (June 28). Guitarist Huw Bunford told NME.COM at the Bethesda aftershow: “Expect a greatest hits set at Glastonbury.”
