Super Furry Animals, who announced their UK dates last week and who release a new single, ‘Fire In My Heart’ on Monday, August 9 through Creation, have already confirmed one show at Cardiff International Arena on December 20 and will announce two more arena shows around the country in the coming weeks.
The tour and the three December shows will be a chance for fans to hear songs from the band’s latest album, ‘Guerrilla’, played on a quadrophonic sound system which uses speakers at the front and back of the venue.
SFA frontman Gruff Rhys told NME: “It will be an extravaganza. We have staff working on it in a laboratory. You’ll hear twice as much as you usually do because you hear things coming from behind you.”
The band are working on developing the December shows to include support bands, DJs and a stage set, tipped to be designed by Pete Fowler who is responsible for all SFA artwork.
Rhys says: “We’re going to the States in September for a month so we’ll be well oiled. It’s going to be mental, amazing.”
