Super Furry Animals have recruited some of the production team behind new Star Wars movie Episode One: The Phantom Menace for the video to their new single ‘Fire In My Heart’, released through Creation on August 2.
The video, which is a mixture of computer animation and live action, shows the Furries being kidnapped by aliens while travelling back to Earth after a gig on another planet.
The aliens were modelled on characters created by Pete Fowler, who designs all the Super Furries‘ artwork and were brought to life by the head of prosthetics on the film, and Keith Short, head of sculpture on the blockbuster, which stars Ewan McGregor.
The band’s spokesman told NME: “The Furries are great fans of Star Wars, so they were thrilled to get them involved. The video looks amazing.”
‘Fire In My Heart’, the second track to be released from their album ‘Guerrilla’, is backed with two new tracks, ‘The Matter Of Time’ and ‘Mrs Spector’.
