Super Furry Animals to launch their own beer

The 8.5% ABV 'Fuzzy' will be unveiled next month at the one day Fire Festival

Super Furry Animals are set to launch their own beer.

The Welsh band have worked with the Celt Experience Brewery to create Fuzzy – named after the band’s 1996 debut ‘Fuzzy Logic’ – an 8.5% ABV “psychedelic wild Welsh beer”, which will be unveiled at the Fire Festival on February 1 at the Pontygwindy Estate in Caerphilly, writes Wales Online. Members of the band will be DJing at the one day event.

Speaking about the beverage, Super Furry Animals’ Cian Ciaran commented: “We’re making it with our own specially formulated recipe, although I can’t tell you what that is. Me and Daf [drummer Dafydd Ieuan] met Tom who owns the brewery last year, and we all thought it would be a good idea to make our own Furry brew.”

Maximo Park recently brewed their own signature beer. The ale – called Maxïmo No. 5 – has been made in conjunction with Newcastle’s Mordue Brewery to celebrate the release of the band’s fifth album, ‘Too Much Information’, which is due out February 3. Bottles of the beer will be available on the band’s March tour of the UK and from select pubs on draft throughout the tour. The ale is described as a “unique Maximo Park amber/red beer” and is 5% ABV. For more information visit
