Super Furry Animals for intimate festival show

The band will play Blissfields in July

Super Furry Animals are set to headline the intimate Blissfields festival this summer.

The Welsh psychedelic veterans will play their most intimate festival appearance of 2009 at the Hampshire event.

Back with new album ‘Dark Days/Light Years’, they will be the main attraction at the festival on Bradley Farm on July 3-5, alongside Laura Marling.

Organisers have also announced a new twist on the festival, The United States Of Bliss – for which festival-goers will elect their own President.

The winner of the election will rule over the festival, performing ceremonial duties like opening the main stage, and enjoying VIP treatment with free beer, food and backstage access.

Campaigning will take place via Facebook groups, with the most popular candidate winning the title.
