Super Furry frontman signs with Conor Oberst's label
Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys’ solo album is to be released in the US via Team Love, the label owned by Bright Eyes’ Conor Oberst.
‘Candylion’ will be released on CD and four-sided vinyl on March 6, with one of the sides being an etching.
Rhys is also working on a project entitled Neon Neon, put together for an album about the story of John De Lorean the car manufacturer. Rhys is writing the album with Boom Bip, who is also producing.
So far guests such as Har Mar Superstar and The Magic Numbers have contributed to the record, which Rhys told NME.COM is in the finishing stages.
As previously revealed on, He’s also currently putting the finishing touches to the new Super Furry Animals record, which he describes as “nice and loud”.
