The Hot Rats make the most of internet whispers on the Park Stage
The pair, who were playing as the Hot Rats – a band that has also featured Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich – were not announced until the last minute, although due to a series of online rumours some of the crowd turned up thinking they might be about to see a former festival headliner.
“Because we were billed as special guests I think there was a rumour we were going to be the Arctic Monkeys,” Goffey told NME.COM. “Instead they got half of Supergrass! It was really rocking, I really enjoyed it and the crowd did too.”
The Park Stage is due to get another special guest today (June 27), though this time Klaxons announced their appearance in advance.
