Gaz Coombes has to fight through a cold, bless him...

RADIO 1 TENT headliners SUPERGRASS played to a rammed tent as they took the crowd through their greatest hits set last night at the CARLING WEEKEND LEEDS FESTIVAL.

Frontman Gaz Coombes, despite being heavy with a cold, didn’t spoil it for the crowd as the band careered around old favourites such as ‘Moving’ and ‘Richard III’, but with ‘Alright’ noticeably absent.

The band also gave acoustic renditions of ‘Late In The Day’ and ‘Caught By The Fuzz’.

Speaking to NME.COM after the show, Gaz said playing the festival had been “bloody brilliant”. “I’ve had a really bad cold, and have been trying to get over that, so I thought it might have been a bit rough, but it was brilliant. The crowd were really up for it, and it was fucking mental, especially during ‘Moving’ and I just wanted to keep it up.”

He added: “We got to the festival about four-ish, we saw a bit of the Von Bondies, and a bit of Auf der Maur. We’re heading back to Oxford now, we’ve got a day off tomorrow, so we’ll be getting ready for Reading on Sunday.”
