The band will play Oxford University as a warm-up for T In The Park and their Oasis support slot...

Supergrass are to play a secret warm-up show at their hometown university as preparation for their Oasis support and their performance at this year’s T In The Park festival.

A spokesperson for the band told nme.com that Supergrass will play the summer ball at Oxford University‘s Wadham College on July 1, but because the show is a low-capacity event and tickets are unavailable to the general public, they planned to keep it under wraps. He said: “The show is a small show…it’s just a way of them warming up for T In The Park.”

In other Supergrass news, the band have “almost certainly” ruled out the possibility of releasing new single this year. Supergrass will now play various festivals in Europe over the summer, before supporting Pearl Jam in the US and Canada in the autumn.

Prior to their performance at T In The Park (July 9), Supergrass support Oasis at Dublin Lansdowne Road on July 8, before appearing at the V2000 festivals at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire over the weekend of August 19-20.
