Swedish House Mafia have announced a reunion show that’ll mark their first show together in Sweden in over six years – and promised fans new music.
The EDM supergroup, made up of Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, formed in 2008. They split in 2013 after two albums, saying they didn’t want to repeat themselves and felt it was time to call it a day.
The reunion show will take place in Stockholm on Saturday May 4, 2019. Tickets will go on sale on Saturday 27th October at 12.00am from LiveNation.se.
The group surprised fans with a performance at this years Ultra Music Festival. Mysterious Swedish House Mafia inspired posters then began appearing across Stockholm, while a countdown clock was set up on the groups website.
The countdown led to a live stream, which revealed news of the show. You can watch the announcement below.

However, some fans found it difficult to understand, as it was announced entirely in Swedish.
“So after watching Swedish House Mafia talk in Swedish for 25 minutes, I still don’t know what’s going on,” one fan tweeted, while another added, “I don’t speak Swedish.”
Once fans were able to figure out the news, they began tweeting their delight. “i’m real life crying over this Swedish House Mafia reunion omg happiest ever !!! i’ve been waiting for this day for YEARS,” one wrote.

Fans had trouble understanding the huge Swedish House Mafia announcement
Speaking during their hiatus in 2016, Axwell said: “Obviously it’s a great thing that we have done and we loved every minute of it. But right now we’re enjoying this new ride and I think Steve is probably the same.
“I think we’re all in our happy places right now. Having said that it would be stupid of me to say never [to a reunion]. Maybe one day something will happen inside of us that says ‘boom’. But it’s more [likely to be] coming from us than at a festival.”
