Former Take That member Mark Owen is set to see his career kicked back into life after winning Celebrity Big Brother last night (November 29).
Owen took 77 per cent of the public phone vote on the reality TV show to see off fading light entertainer Les Dennis and former Page 3 glamour model Melinda Messenger. Money raised from the phone-calls (£220, 000) goes to a number of charities.
The public warmed to Owen throughout his 10 days in the house. Appearing vacuous at first, it became clear he had a light, self-deprecating wit saying he was simply “Robbie’s [Williams] mate” now who no-one took seriously. He also revealed he had some 400 songs written ready for release. During his time in the house, he suprised many playing Radiohead tracks on his guitar, revealing he was a huge fan.
A number of record companies are now keen to secure Owen’s signature and release a record.
