Take That beat AC/DC to Number One spot in Official UK Albums Chart

Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud' is this week's Number One single

Take That are this week’s Number One in the UK Albums Chart, pipping AC/DC to the top spot.

‘III’ is the pop group’s first effort as a trio, following the recent departure of Jason Orange. It is also their sixth studio release to reach Number One in the UK.

As the Official Charts Company report, AC/DC’s new album ‘Rock Or Bust’ has reached Number Three for what is their 18th UK Top 40 album. Elsewhere in the Albums Chart, Ed Sheeran’s ‘X’ is at Number Two, Sam Smith’s ‘In The Lonely Hour’ is at Number Four, One Direction’s ‘Four’ is at Number Five and McBusted’s self-titled debut makes the Top Ten in tenth position.

This week’s Number One single is Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’, its second week at the top of the chart, taking the top spot from Take That’s ‘These Days’, now down to third. ‘Thinking Out Loud’ is Sheeran’s fourth Top 40 single taken from his new album ‘X’.

Meanwhile, Union J’s ‘You Got It All’ is a new entry at Number Two and Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space’ marks its eighth week in the chart, up four places to Number Four. Olly Murs’ ‘Wrapped Up’ (fetauring Travie McCoy) spends this week at Number Five.
