News of the B-sides featuring release comes on the album’s one-year anniversary
Tame Impala released ‘Currents’ on July 17 last year, and the band’s frontman Kevin Parker celebrated that by revealing details of a deluxe edition of the album that’s in the works.
Parker teased the news in a heartfelt Instagram post, which also included the news that the deluxe edition of ‘Currents’ will include B-sides.
In the Instagram post, Parker wrote: “1 year since this album was released! Feels like a lifetime ago but also like it was yesterday at the same time. Needless to say I didn’t predict the effect it would have on my life… and other peoples too it seems…. Endless thank you to everyone who got onboard.” You can see the full post below.

Last month, NME’s Kevin EG Perry wrote how Tame Impala fell in love with Glastonbury this year (and vice versa), saying how their prime slot just before Adele on the Pyramid Stage on the festival’s Saturday evening (June 25) provided them with a perfect opportunity to win over a prime time audience.
That was before the band were showered by cushions thrown by fans at a gig in France earlier this month (July 4). The Australian psych outfit played the Théâtres Romains de Fourvière in Lyon, and during their performance of ‘Apocalypse Dreams’, fans began to throw the cushions they had been given to sit on by the venue onto the stage. Reports at the time suggested it to be a tradition in the region to show your enjoyment of a performance.
