Song is first to be released off the band's upcoming third album
Tame Impala have released a new song, ‘Let It Happen’.
The eight-minute long electronic-tinted track is available to download for free via the band’s website, and is the first to be released from the forthcoming follow-up to their 2012 critical hit album ‘Lonerism’.
Last year, Tame Impala keyboardist, Jay Watson, hinted that the group’s new album – their third – would sound “less rock and more electronic”. Though keeping his cards close to his chest, he explained: “It’s probably gonna be less rock again and more electronic, even more than the last one. It’s gonna be awesome, everything he [frontman Kevin Parker] does is awesome.”
The Australian group will play live dates in Glasgow and Liverpool this September as warm-up for their Bestival performance. They appear at Barrowland Ballroom on September 8 before arriving in Liverpool a day later for a gig at the Olympia venue.
Tame Impala will play:
Glasgow, Barrowland (September 8)
Liverpool, Olympia (9)
