Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has taken to Instagram to post a snippet of his upcoming appearance on new show Lip Sync Battle, a series based on the popular segment that previously featured on US chat show Late Night Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Billboard reports that the Furious 7 and WWE star will be the first guest on the show, which is hosted by rapper LL Cool J and will air in the US on April 2.
The short clip sees The Rock perform Taylor Swift‘s ‘Shake it Off’. “Channelin’ my inner Taylor Swift and comin’ to take the title from Jimmy Fallon,” he wrote in video’s caption. Scroll down to watch.
In February, Swift was officially named the world’s biggest-selling artist after receiving the IFPI Global Recording Artist of 2014 Award. The singer triumphed over 2013 winners One Direction, as well as Ed Sheeran and Coldplay, to claim the title. Global music downloads, streaming and physical format sales were all counted in her win.
Swift’s latest album, ‘1989’, topped the iTunes chart in 95 countries. She has withheld the album from Spotify, however. “I’m not willing to contribute my life’s work to an experiment that I don’t feel fairly compensates the writers, producers, artists and creators of this music,” Swift said in November. “And I just don’t agree with perpetuating the perception that music has no value and should be free.”
