39-year-old Daniel P. Cole sentenced to probation
A Massachusetts man has been found guilty of trespassing on Taylor Swift‘s Rhode Island mansion home.
The Westerly Sun reports that 39-year-old Daniel P. Cole will serve a year of probation on a trespassing charge and six months of probation on a disorderly conduct charge. He has also been ordered to have no contact with the singer, as well as anger management screenings and counselling.
The incident took place on March 20. It was the third time Cole had appeared at Swift’s home. According to police, Cole told security that he had been invited to visit. When officers arrived, he began cursing and refused their orders.
Police had issued Cole with a no-trespass order in December.
In March, Swift was named the highest-earning musician of 2014, topping Billboard’s annual list ahead of Kenny Chesney, Justin Timberlake, Bon Jovi and The Rolling Stones, who completed the top 5. Other artists to miss out included Mumford & Sons and Kanye West. The ‘Love Story’ singer earned $39.7million (£23.8m) in 2013 from music sales, royalties and touring.
Swift previously held the title in 2012, but lost out to Madonna the following year.
