Taylor Swift has been granted her request for a three-year restraining order against a man who has been harassing her.
The man, named Timothy Sweet, has been harassing the singer since 2011 with letters, emails and tweets. Swift, who has recently been named as the the world’s highest-earning musician, earning £23.8m last year alone, filed the order on March 3, banning Sweet from being within 100 yards of the singer and her family until 2017.
Court documents published by Los Angeles Times, revealed that Sweet believed Swift was his wife, writing in a message: ‘Dearest Taylor, I’ll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage.’ Court reports show Sweet had visited her homes in Beverly Hills and Nashville.
“Mr Sweet’s course of conduct, including threats to harm my family, are seriously alarming and harassing and are extremely distressing to me and my family,” Swift wrote in the declaration, filed earlier this month.
Just last week (March 21), 38 year-old Daniel Cole was also ordered to stay away from Swift’s holiday home on the Rhode Island shore after repeatedly ignoring police requests.
