The clip features wax figures of naked celebrities laying in bed. Included in the video’s roll call are Swift, George W. Bush, West, Kim Kardashian West, Amber Rose, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Caitlyn Jenner, Bill Cosby, Donald Trump, Anna Wintour and Ray J.
The video is apparently inspired by Vincent Desiderio’s painting ‘Sleep’.
According to Hollywood Life, Swift is none too pleased with the video.
A source is quoted as saying: “Taylor is livid. Taylor is horrified [by the video]. Taylor didn’t know what to do when she heard about what Kanye did.
“She is bewildered, feels betrayed and is beyond frustrated with Kanye. It is like a complete nightmare. Taylor is pissed to say the least!”
‘Famous’ is already surrounded by controversy due to the line “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/I made that bitch famous”.
West initially claimed that he had asked for Taylor’s approval of the lyric before releasing the track and that she gave her blessing. Swift later denied this and appeared to subtly refer to West’s lyrics during her acceptance speech at the Grammy Awards in February, saying: “I want to say to all the young women out there [that] there are going to be people along the way who are going to try and undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.”
West’s wife, Kim Kardashian West, recently claimed that Swift had actually approved the lyrics and that video evidence of that existed. She also said Swift later sent a letter with her attorney that said “Don’t ever let that footage come out of me saying that. Destroy it.”
