Leto describes singer as "an incredible example of what's possible"
Jared Leto has issued a public apology to Taylor Swift after being caught insulting her music in a conversation with friends.
The video, first posted by TMZ and available to view below, shows Leto talking about Swift’s ‘1989’ album while it is played on speakers.
“I don’t like this at all – next,” the musician and actor says while listening to album opener ‘Welcome To New York’. He concluded by saying: “I mean, fuck her, I don’t give a fuck about her. It’s whatever works best for us.”
Leto has now apologised and attempted to make things right with the US pop star. “The truth is I think @taylorswift13 is amazing + an incredible example of what’s possible. If I hurt her or her fans my sincerest apologies,” he tweeted yesterday (December 7).
Leto did save some praise for the song ‘Blank Space’, and says he wants to “steal it”, though he does suggest that Swift has copied the vocal style from “Charli XX”, presumably meaning Charli XCX. He also calls ‘Style’ an “interesting little pop song”.

Jared Leto recently hinted that he is making new music with his band Thirty Seconds To Mars.
The actor and musician, who has recently been filming Suicide Squad alongside Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne, posted a picture of himself in a recording booth behind a microphone in November. The picture was accompanied by the caption: ‘#MarsIsComing’.
The band released their self-titled debut back in 2002, followed by 2005’s ‘A Beautiful Lie’, 2009’s ‘This Is War’ and 2013’s ‘Love Lust Faith + Dreams’.
The band have been largely inactive since touring with Linkin Park during 2014.
