"It's a nice view"
Taylor Swift got stuck in a sparkly basket mid-air during one of her shows in the US over the weekend.
The pop star was performing her recent hit ‘Delicate’ at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday night (July 14) when the on-stage malfunction happened.
The basket was supposed to transport the ‘Reputation’ star across the stadium, but half-way through the song the basket came to a halt.
“I’m pretty sure I’m stuck up here,” Swift said. “It’s a nice view, though.”
Swift explained the technical difficulties to the audience after finishing the song.
“So what you just saw was me going like straight up and down in this sparkly basket,” she said. “It’s supposed to take me to the other side of the stadium.
“So what happens now is basically I’m just chilling, waiting to figure out what happens next.”
While the stage crew worked to fix the problem, Swift chatted to the audience – and at one point broke into an a capella crowd sing-along of her 2007 track ‘Our Song’.
A new basket was later brought onto set and Swift continued the show.
Last week, Swift called herself a “third wheel” when a fan used a meet-and-greet with the singer as a chance to propose to his girlfriend.
