Tenacious D have announced a UK tour for October.
The duo, who consist of actor Jack Black and comedian Kyle Gass, toured the UK last month, but have now confirmed a fresh batch of dates for the autumn.
The run of shows begins at Brighton Centre on October 18 and then takes in shows in Wolverhampton on October 21, Manchester on October 23 and finally London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo on October 24.
Tenacious D are touring in support of their third studio album ‘Rize Of The Fenix’. The album is the follow-up to 2006’s ‘The Pick of Destiny’ and the band’s 2001 self-titled debut.
Speaking previously about the album, Black said that he believed his band didn’t get the credit they were due “because we’re clowns” and added that he also believed his new album was superior to the recent efforts by Foo Fighters, Jack White, Gotye and Tom Waits.
He said of this: “I do love Jack White’s ‘Blunderbuss’, I love the Foo Fighters, I love Tom Waits, his new record is incredible and Goyte. But our album is better than all of those, and because we’re clowns, we don’t get that kind of love.”
He added: “In a 100 years’ time, no one will remember Gotye or the rest, but the shining beacon of The D, they’re going to start religions after us.”
Tenacious D will play:
Brighton Centre (October 18)
Wolverhampton Civic Hall (21)
O2 Apollo Manchester (23)
London HMV Hammersmith Apollo (24)
