The stars aim to raise money for accident victim Petra Haden, whose past collaborators have included Beck and Green Day...
SEAN LENNON and CIBO MATTO are to headline two benefit gigs for PETRA HADEN – the violinist and singer who has worked with artists including BECK, FOO FIGHTERS and GREEN DAY.
The first gig takes place at the Bowery Ballroom in New York on January 21, with the full line-up to be confirmed. The second is on January 28 at Chain Reaction, Anaheim, California , and also features The Killingtons, Smile and Ozma.
Haden, who was a member of US band That Dog, was seriously injured in an accident last August, when she was struck by a car while crossing a road in Venice, California. She had no medical insurance at the time and her medical bills ran into six figures.
In addition to her rock collaborations, she has also appeared on records by Victoria Williams and Luscious Jackson. Her most recent solo release was the 1999 album ‘Bella Neurox’.
Beck, Tenacious D, actor Vincent Gallo, who has recently signed a record deal, and former Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins played at an earlier benefit for Haden at Los Angeles Knitting Factory.
