The 1975 have announced their first ever UK arena tour.

After their previously-announced show at The O2, London on December 16 sold out within hours, the band have scheduled another six arena shows including a second date at The O2 and dates in Manchester, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Glasgow and Cardiff.

The 1975 released their second album ‘I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it’ in February and saw it debut at Number One in both the US and UK. Their debut album ‘The 1975’ also reached Number One in the UK when it came out in 2013.

“I just want to be the band of this time,” Matt Healy told NME during The 1975’s cover interview earlier this year. “The one. The four boys in a band who play instruments.”

Meanwhile, the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil will bring its acclaimed show Varekai – Tales of the Forest to seven cities across the UK and Ireland next February and March.

There will be multiple performances in each city – Sheffield, Dublin, Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham and Glasgow – including a special Saturday matinée show at every venue.

Break-out star Christine and the Queens has announced her biggest UK show to date.

The French singer-songwriter, whose debut album ‘Chaleur humaine’ recently entered the Top Ten, will perform at iconic London venue O2 Academy Brixton on November 2.

Meanwhile, Legends of 80’s Disco – C.C Catch and Bad Boys Blue – Live in London will take over Indigo at The O2 one night in November,

The two Eurodisco legends, who rank among Germany’s most popular artists of the ‘80s, will perform under the same roof in a special double headline show on November 4.

Finally, WCPW Wrestling has announced another show in Newcastle this August.

WCPW – which stands for What Culture Pro Wrestling – is already due to play two shows at the city’s O2 Academy venue in July. Now it has booked in third and fourth shows at the same venue for August 25.
