The frontman has collaborated with the rising Manchester artist for the visuals for the latter's track 'Ashleigh'
The 1975 frontman Matty Healy has co-directed the new video for Just Banco’s ‘Ashleigh’ – check out the visuals below.
Signed to The 1975’s label Dirty Hit in February, Just Banco – who also hails from Manchester – is a rapper who is “trying to enforce a ‘Trapense’ genre and sound” with his music.
Banco’s latest single, ‘Ashleigh’, has now been given the video treatment. Co-directed by Healy and Banco himself, the colourful clip prominently features the rapper and the bike gang BIKELIFE.
Banco tweeted about the new video earlier today:
Healy’s work with Banco follows on from his directorial action on Pale Waves‘ recent clip for their single ‘Television Romance’.
This week, Healy’s mother Denise Welch opened up about her battle with depression and alcoholism – admitting that it could’ve affected her son’s success with The 1975.
“I have brought up two reasonably well-adjusted boys who are doing well,” she said during an appearance on Loose Women. “Matty is in a successful band. He’s in a band called The 1975 who are doing very well.”
She continued: “Like he [Matt] says: ‘Mum, if you hadn’t been a bit rock ‘n roll I wouldn’t be who I am now.’ But, Matthew’s success wouldn’t have happened if I was still drinking – because of the worry and the anxiety.”
