The Amazons have shared new single ‘Mother’, taken from their currently untitled new album, due out this summer.
The band previously teased that the new LP would be a “concept grime record” but ‘Mother’ steers towards the band’s previous rock efforts.
“In the age of social media we’re constantly told how to act, how to feel and how to think,” frontman Matthew Thomson said of the track. “This is a defiant song, challenging friends, gods and everyone in between.” You can listen to ‘Mother’ in full below.
The band are heading out on a small tour this week, stopping off in Glasgow, Leeds, Cardiff and more. They’ve also been announced for a handful of festivals this summer. You can see all of their current live dates below.

Speaking at the VO5 NME Awards 2018, the band discussed the new LP, explaining: “We’ve just been working on it over the last couple of weeks really.
“We’ve had some time off. We’ve just finished our biggest UK headline tour and we’ve actually got space to breathe and write some stuff.”
Thomson added: “Before the band started, we were very much into 808s and all that kind of stuff.”
