The Avalanches set to play first live shows in 15 years

The band are set to perform at Field Day

It was reported yesterday that The Avalanches had updated all of their social media accounts with a cryptic image, leading to speculation of their return.

The return has been confirmed, with the Australian band set to reunite for a string of live shows. This will be their first live performances in 15 years.

They have confirmed festival appearances at Primavera Sound in Barcelona; London’s Field Day Festival and Splendour in the Grass in Byron, Bay Australia.

No announcement has been made about new material but these live performances are set to get fans excited.

Rumours of new material have been circulating for years, with a leaked track in 2015 turning out to be a fake after Kansas producer Amherst tweeted that it belonged to him.

In 2008 it was reported that the band had finished work on their follow-up after they updated their MySpace page to tell fans: “New material soon.”

The live dates are below:

02-04 Barcelona, Primavera Sound
12 London, Field Day

22-24 Byron Bay, Splendour In The Grass
