New song comes ahead of band's first album in 16 years

A new song from The Avalanches has surfaced online ahead of their long-awaited new album release.

The group recently announced their first album in 16 years. Details of the Australian band’s new album ‘Wildflower’ were revealed earlier this month (June 2). Released on July 8, the album follows their 2000 album ‘Since I Left You’.

Now ‘If I Was A Folkstar’, a collaboration with Toro Y Moi, has been uploaded in a Mixcloud mix. As Stereogum reports, the song samples the radio opening from Queens Of The Stone Age‘s ‘You Think I Ain’t Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire.’
