‘Running Red Lights’ is the second single from The Avalanches’ forthcoming yet-to-be-named third studio album, following ‘We Will Always Love You’ which featured English singer-songwriter Blood Orange.

In a press statement, The Avalanches said ‘Running Red Lights’ “didn’t start out as a defining moment; a ‘single’ as it were.

“Rivers responded to our fuzzed-out Spacemen 3 inspired jam with such open-heartedness that we soon dropped all pretense and got down to the heart of the matter… loss.”

The song is released today with an accompanying music video which you can watch below.

Information surrounding the follow-up to The Avalanches 2016 album ‘Wildflower’ has been scarce, but The Avalanches have teased several nods to the new material, including wiping their Instagram account clean in February and sharing new cosmic artwork.

The new single comes after the band, along with Jamie xx, were forced to postpone a one-off climate change benefit concert, ‘No Coal Zone’ in Sydney due to coronavirus concerns.
