The club night that helped launch The Coral is set to conquer America and Japan...

The Bandits‘ LIVERPOOL club night THE BANDWAGON is set to take over the world.

Organisers of the club – which has helped launch Coral, The Zutons and Stands – are currently in talks with venues in New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo to take their unique brand of classic tunes and live music around the globe. The Bandits would feature on the bill, alongside bands from each of the cities on the tour.

Guitarist Gary Bandit told NME: “Hopefully we’re going to take The Bandwagon out to Don Hill’s and CBGB’s in New York – I’m really excited about it!”

The Bandits are due to release their debut album ‘And They Walked Away’ on September 15. One track, ‘The Warning’, features a certain Mr Noel Gallagher guesting on guitar. And some of the recording sessions for the album even took place at Noel’s home studio.

The Bandits are now hoping Noel will join them onstage when they play the Hung Drawn And Quartered Festival at London’s Cargo club in Shoreditch.

“I hope Noel Gallagher will get up with us – I’m working on things,” Gary said.

The band’s new single ‘2 Step Rock’ is released on September 1, featuring five new tracks. The Bandits will also head off on a UK tour at the end of August. To check ticket availability, [url=]click here or call the NME Ticketline on 0870 1 663 663.
