Beatles’ George Harrison’s widow wins fence battle

Fence put up after late guitarist was attacked can be replaced

The BeatlesGeorge Harrison‘s widow Olivia Harrison has won a legal battle to get a security fence originally erected after her late husband was attacked replaced.

The guitarist, who died in 2001, was stabbed in his Henley-On-Thames home in 1999 by an intruder. He erected a razor wire fence after the incident, with his widow now getting planning permission from South Oxfordshire District Council to replace it.

The idea to replace the eight foot fence a had been opposed by some neighbours, who labelled it “inappropriate”, reports BBC News. On neighbour had claimed the fence injured his cat.
