Classic rock images abound at the event...

Photographs of THE BEATLES, George Harrison, ROLLING STONES, and JIMI HENDRIX will feature in an exhibition taking place in LONDON.

The images form part of the ’Thirty Flight Rock’ exhibition, which takes place at Saab Piccadilly’s The Platform.

Pictures features in the exhibition include early photos of Rod Stewart, Rod Stewart, and ‘fifth Beatle’ Stuart Sutcliffe, taken by Sutcliffe’s girlfriend and photographer Astrid Kirchherr in 1960.

“Because they looked so rough and their music was raw, I thought of a suitable background for them,” she explained.

“I took them to the fairground in Hamburg because of all the steel there, which suited their image. They never smiled. They were too excited.”

“This picture of [a] amused me. There’s always something very personal about someone’s bedroom and I just thought how women seeing the photo would love to have swapped places with that cat.

looked menacing and teasing all at once. This shot was one of many I took in 30 to 40 locations around the house over a week.”

The exhibition begins on Thursday (May 13), and is open for two weeks, marking the 30th anniversary of Genesis Publications.
