The Fab Four's '1' compilation tops the Billboard album chart for the fifth successive week...
THE BEATLES have held onto the top spot in the US BILLBOARD chart with the hits compilation ‘1’, their fifth straight week at the peak.
Sales of over 450,000 helped the album to break the five million barrier in the seven weeks since release.
And in what is traditionally a very quiet week, the Top Ten saw some established titles climb back up. Compilation album ‘Now 5’ sold 319,000 copies to sneak back to Number Two, while Shaggy’s ‘Hotshot’ moved to Three with 280,000 units shifted. Limp Bizkit similarly jumped two positions, with ‘Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water’ moving to Six.
The highest new entry on the chart, at Number 76, was the soundtrack to Hollywood film ‘Save The Last Dance’. Featuring tracks from among others Lucy Pearl, K-Ci & Jo-Jo and Ice Cube, the film stars Sean Patrick Thomas and Julia Stiles.
