The Bee Gees star to be cremated at a private service...

MAURICE GIBB is to being laid to rest this afternoon (January 15) at a private funeral in MIAMI.

The Bee Gees singer, who died on Sunday (January 12) after suffering a heart-attack during surgery for an intestinal complaint, is to be cremated following a service at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapel on Miami Beach.

His former wife Lulu, who was married to him for four years from 1969, and Michael Jackson are the only stars thought to be attending the service, which is primarily for family and friends.

The Bee Gees’ management have asked that contributions be made to the Andy Gibb Memorial Foundation, based in Miami, in lieu of flowers, or sent to a charity of the contributor’s choice.

Brothers Barry and Robin Gibb have said they intend to continue making music, although they were “completely pole-axed” by their sibling’s shock death. They also voiced concerns over his treatment at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in an interview with the BBC. The hospital has so far made no response.
