BLACK CROWES‘ band manager PETER ANGELUS has lodged a lawsuit against the insurance company that failed to cover their gigs with JIMMY PAGE.
The band filed the negligence case against Robertson Taylor Insurance Brokers Ltd in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday (June 13), according to www.cdnow.com.
It is the second lawsuit arising from the ill-fated 2000 Black Crowes/Jimmy Page tour, which resulted in a string of cancelled dates due to Page’s back problems.
The band lodged a lawsuit against Lloyds of London in March for breach of contract, after the insurers did not compensate them for loss of profits and expenses caused by the cancelled gig dates.
Lloyds claim that Robertson Taylor didn’t buy insurance coverage until approximately two days after the tour was cancelled.
The band is seeking general and compensatory damages and a jury will determine the amount at trial.
