Black Keys frontman close to finishing second album with The Arcs

Dan Auerbach band released debut album 'Yours, Dreamily' in September

Dan Auerbach’s other band The Arcs are close to finishing their second album, despite only releasing their first earlier this year.

Auerbach took time out from being one half of The Black Keys to focus on The Arcs this year and the band released ‘Yours, Dreamily’ in ASeptember. Speaking to Billboard, Auerbach has revealed that the band are already “almost done with another record. It’s really close.”

The frontman said that touring with the band has helped them grow: “The Arcs have a particular sound, or we’re trying to. It’s starting to, I guess, solidify a little bit, especially the more we play live together,” he said. “I’m just hearing a new consistency, but it’s still pulling from various types of places; it’s what our record collections sound like, pretty much, so it’s all over the place. There’s loud songs, fast songs but it’s still dreamy and it still sounds like the Arcs. I don’t really know how to describe it.”

The group sees Auerbach teaming up with Truth & Soul Records founder Leon Michels, Black Keys touring bassist Richard Swift, Menahan Street Band member Homer Steinweiss, Amy Winehouse collaborator Nick Movshon, guitarist Kenny Vaughan, plus the members of all-female mariachi band Mariachi Flor de Toloache.

The Arcs recently made their UK live debut with a London gig at Kentish Town Forum for November 11. Listen to ‘Outta My Mind’ below.
