The Breeders, National to perform at free Obama rally

Rockers encourage Ohio youth to vote early

The Breeders and The National have announced that they will perform at a free rally in support of US Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama next month.

The bands are set to play at Cincinnati, Ohio’s Fountain Square on October 16 as part of the “Vote Early Rock Late” event.

During the rally, voters will be shuttled by bus to the Hamilton County Election Headquarters to cast their votes in the state that allows early voting. The county has long been a Republican stronghold and could prove a major turning point for Democrats if Obama were to win there.

This is not the first time The National have shown their support for Obama. The band also designed T-shirts with his image on them, declaring him ‘Mr. November’, which is also the title of one of their songs.
